Christina Stokes, MSW, LCSW
I received my Master's in Social Work from the University of Chicago in 2005. Following graduation, I worked as a crisis counselor in inner city Chicago, managed a Women's Health Clinic at the University of Illinois at Chicago, and was an individual and group therapist at several psychiatric facilities.
More recently I’ve worked in hospice, provided therapy at a high school in Austin, and co-founded a children's book publishing company.
Along this path, I discovered that my true passion was collaborating with individuals one-on-one. I enjoy working with adults of all ages with a strength-based and client-centered approach that’s tailored for each person.
My goal as a therapist is to connect with individuals and observe how their experiences have shaped their environments on a psychological, behavioral, and interpersonal level.
I work with clients to create a calm, safe space where we can navigate the human experience together.
I am originally from Columbus, Ohio, but I have lived in France, on both coasts of the United States, and in Austin, before making Georgetown my home. I live with my three children and husband of eighteen years down a gravel road near a nature preserve. I love being outside and spending quality time with friends and family, exploring new places, and getting to know new people.
